Infinera manufactures commercially-deployed, large-scale photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Its first generation PICs transmit and receive 100 gigabits per second of optical transmission capacity and incorporate the functionality of over 60 optical functions into a pair of indium phosphide chips. Its PICs are combined with Optical Transport Network (OTN) switching to enable its Digital Optical Network architecture to offer Service Providers a combination of transmission capacity and the bandwidth management tools to utilize such capacity across platforms that are easy to operate.
